Bristol based Birth Support

Doula Care Packages

I’m Becca, a Bristol based doula offering caring and practical in person birth and postpartum support in Bristol and surrounding areas. I have a deep passion for supporting those navigating a pregnancy after a previous Caesarean.

How my support for you is shaped:

Imagine during your pregnancy and into your postpartum having someone there every step of the way - to be invested in your story, your baby, your birth.

Someone who takes the time to get to know you, understands your fears, your worries. Someone you feel comfortable to share with, knowing you will be supported, not shamed or made to feel silly. No matter the question. Someone you can message who will not try to make a decision for you but offer you evidenced based information to support your decision making.

"Appointments" lasting 2 hours not 10 mins. Appointments when we talk about you, your hopes, dreams, concerns. We drink tea or walk in nature. Time spent actually talking about birth and how it will look for you.

You are someone who isn't prepared to accept substandard, overtly medicalised maternity care. You're ready to make slightly different choices, to challenge the norm, you want to welcome your baby in with power & peace. But right now that feels a little daunting. Where do you start? You want someone who understands that and champions you every step of the way.

And when the day arrives for your birth, knowing that alongside your birth partner you will have someone who truly believes in you. There to support, encourage, hand hold. Know your birth plan inside and out, leaving you able to surrender to your journey, to meet your baby on your terms, in your power.

I'm here, ready to support you on your journey, weather that's a planned Caesarean, a free birth, home birth, VBAC or anything in-between.

Doula care packages

Essential Care - perfect for those who are already feeling confident in their birth and postpartum choices and are looking for gentle support as they move towards expanding their family.

  • 3 × 2 hour preparation sessions in your home, for us to get to know each other, build trust, sound out your birth plans, ensure I know the things which truly matter to you. Opportunity to work through any worries or hurdles that come up, to help you feel calm and confident as you approach your birth day.

  • WhatsApp group with your birth partner from 27+ weeks until 7 weeks postpartum. (8am-9pm) This allows us to keep in regular contact, I can share information with you, answer you questions. My support continues to 7 weeks because 6 weeks is often a really tricky time, especially for breastfeeding & its when so much support also drops off - I want you to know that I'm still here for you.

  • On call from 10 days before your 40 week date until about 43 weeks. (We can move this window if you typically have earlier babies)

  • I will be with you at your birth, from when you need me until you and your baby are cosy, fed and settled (both of you) Typically I will stay for 2-4 hours after your baby has arrived.

  • 1 × 2 hour postnatal visit to debrief your birth, admire your wonderful new human and offer any gentle support with feeding and postnatal comfort.

  • If you are having a home birth the use of a birth pool is included, though you will need to buy the single use parts (I provide a discount for these)

Complete Care - Perfect for those who also want to include full antenatal education, and want high touch, nurturing continuity of care throughout their pregnancy journey. Ideal for first time families, or those navigating additional hurdles in their pregnancies.

  • 5 x2 hour sessions in your home, giving us opportunity to cover a full hypnobirthing or antenatal course - tailored to your specific concerns or areas of interest. We can also include preparing breastfeed, typical newborn/postpartum expectations.

  • If desired I can attend up to 2 hospital/consultant appointments with you

  • WhatsApp support (8am-9pm) for you and your birth partner from booking until 7 weeks postpartum - I’ll be there every step of the way. Ready to answer questions, direct you to evidence based resources. I’m also on hand as you navigate your early postpartum, right past the tricky 6 week mark when so much support falls away.

  • On call from 10 days before your 40 week date until about 43 weeks. With all the NHS support focusing on 42 weeks as a deadline, I don’t want you to worry about my support leaving you then as well.

  • I will be with you from when you need me on your labouring day. I will be by your side whether you labour at home or hospital. After your baby is born I will stay until you are both settled and fed - usually 2-4 hours.

  • 2 × 2 hour postpartum sessions 1 to debrief your birth & admire your lovely new baby. We can also gently work on breastfeeding support, and self care for you as you rest and heal, helping you ease into your mothering era, weather thats the 1st of 4th time.

  • Birth pool included if you are having a home birth (you will need to get the single use parts - I provide a discount for these)

  • Pregnancy affirmations, journal prompts, pdf’s on various topics.

It starts with a chat.

Its really important to have the right doula, after all I will be there as you welcome your baby, its a very special day! The first step is always a free no obligation chat to get to know each other a little. This can be on zoom, or we can meet for a hot drink if you are local in Bristol.
